Space Marine Factions

Space Marines

Genetically enhanced super-soldiers bred for war across a thousand Chapters. Elite, versatile, and endlessly customizable on the tabletop. The default entry point for most new 40k players.

  • Black Templars

Crusading Space Marine Chapter obsessed with purging the xenos and the heretic. Aggressive melee-forward army built around relentless advances. Vow-driven rules reward all-out assault.

  • Blood Angels

Noble but doomed Space Marines wrestling with a genetic curse of rage and thirst. Fast assault forces built around Death Company and jump troops. Tragic lore, ferocious close combat.

  • Dark Angels

Secretive Chapter hunting fallen brothers from a shameful ancient betrayal. Deathwing Terminators and Ravenwing bikes anchor a flexible, veteran-heavy list. Deep, mysterious lore runs through every unit.

  • Deathwatch

Xenos-hunting strike force drawn from every Space Marine Chapter. Small, elite kill teams built for specialist threats. A great showcase army for conversion and painting variety.

  • Grey Knights

Secret Chapter of daemon-hunting psykers wielding force weapons and holy silver. Every model is a psyker, making them uniquely resistant to Chaos. Small, mysterious, and mechanically distinct.

  • Iron Hands

Loyalist Chapter obsessed with rooting out weakness through cybernetic augmentation. Slow, resilient gunline army built around near-immortal characters and durable vehicles. Cold, mechanical philosophy runs through every unit's flavor text.

  • Imperial Fists

Master siege-breakers and defenders, unmatched at holding ground against overwhelming odds. Durable, bolter-focused army built around relentless firepower and grit. Yellow-and-black heraldry makes them one of the most visually iconic Chapters.

  • Raven Guard

Secretive strike force specializing in ambush, stealth, and precision special operations. Infiltration-heavy army built around striking from concealment and vanishing again. Dark, shadow-warfare aesthetic with a mysterious, tragic Primarch legacy.

  • Salamanders

Compassionate warrior-smiths who value protecting humanity above glory or conquest. Flame- and melta-heavy army built around aggressive, close-range firepower. Beloved for their honorable, humane approach to the grimdark setting.

  • Space Wolves

Viking-inspired Space Marines who fight as much with cunning as with claws. Fast, aggressive, and built around characterful named heroes. Strong pack tactics and close-combat synergy.

  • Ultramarines

The archetypal Space Marine Chapter, disciplined and tactically flexible above all else. Balanced, all-comers army with no glaring weaknesses. The default "textbook" Chapter most new players learn the game through.

  • White Scars

Lightning-fast bike-mounted warriors inspired by nomadic horse-lord culture. Hit-and-run army built around speed, mobility, and hard-hitting charges. One of the most aggressive, mobile play styles in the Space Marine range.
