How preorders work at HW Wargames

When you place a preorder request through our store, no payment is taken upfront. Invoices will be issued and payment collected in store on the Saturday of release day — just come in, pay, and pick up your order. Please note that preorder requests placed after Tuesday at noon following the Warhammer Community announcement will be processed after the release date, subject to stock availability. For online-exclusive items, your order will be placed with Games Workshop on the Saturday of the preorder window and shipped directly by Games Workshop on or after the release date. We'll be in touch as soon as your order arrives and is ready for you.

Events at HW Wargames

Something is always happening at HW Wargames.
From casual games nights to competitive tournaments, narrative campaigns to painting
competitions, the store programme is built around one idea — that the best part of the
hobby is sharing it with other people. Whatever game you play and however you like to
play it, there is a place for you in the HW Wargames community every week of the year.
Games Nights
The store runs dedicated games nights Tuesday through Friday, with each night home to
specific systems. Turn up, find an opponent, and get a game in. No booking required.
Monthly Tournaments
Competitive ranked tournaments run every Saturday across Warhammer 40,000, Age of
Sigmar, Warhammer: The Old World, Blood Bowl, and Kill Team. Three rounds of Swiss-
draw matched play, open to all skill levels.
Campaigns
Ongoing narrative and ladder campaigns run throughout the year across multiple game
systems. Fight for territory on a player-generated map, climb the ladder league rankings,
or build a persistent warband through a full season of Spec Ops or Necromunda.
Painting Competition
Every month a single miniature is nominated and every painter in the community is invited
to enter. Free to enter, two months to paint, and points on the line for the Annual
Championship.
Annual Grand Championship
Every tournament result and every painting competition placement earns championship
points throughout the year. One player will be crowned Annual Champion at the December
event and awarded the grand prize.
Whatever brings you through the door — competitive play, narrative gaming, painting, or just
